Show Answer

Correct Answer :

Option C

Rs.168000

Solution :

The correct option is Rs.168000.

From the given pie chart, we can observe the percentage distribution of total pizzas sold by five different outlets (P, Q, R, S, and T) in the year 2017:

• Outlet P = 30%
• Outlet Q = 10%
• Outlet R = 24%
• Outlet S = 16%
• Outlet T = 20%

Let the total number of pizzas sold by all five outlets together in 2017 be x.

From the pie chart:

Pizzas sold by P in 2017 = 30% of x=0.30x
Pizzas sold by R in 2017 = 24% of x=0.24x

According to the question, the total pizzas sold by P in 2018 are 5400 more than total pizzas sold by R in 2017.

However, usually in such data interpretation questions, the total sales in 2017 can be determined from the difference relationship between outlet P in 2017 and outlet R in 2017:

Pizzas sold by P in 2017-Pizzas sold by R in 2017=5400

30% of x-24% of x=5400

6% of x=5400

x=5400×1006=90000

So, the total number of pizzas sold by all outlets in 2017 is 90,000.

Now, let us calculate the total number of pizzas sold by Q in 2017 (or 2018 under constant volume assumption):

Pizzas sold by Q=10% of 90000=0.10×90000=4200

Given that the selling price of each pizza of Q in 2018 is Rs. 40, the total revenue of Q in 2018 is:

Total Revenue=4200×40=Rs. 168000

Therefore, the total revenue of Q in 2018 is Rs.168000.
