Read the information and answer the following questions.

The table shows the number of males working in private and public companies and number of females working in private and public company in four (A, B, C & D) different cities.

CitiesMales in Private companyMales in Public companyFemales (private + public)
A15x – 2yy55
B16x16108
C9y2474
D842185

Note – (i) Number of male employees in A are 50.

(ii) Total males working in private company from B and C are 154.
(iii) Total employees (male + female) working in any city = private companies + public company
(iv) Males/females working in any city = Sum of males/females working in private and public company

Average number of male employees in C and F is 200. 80% out of the total employees (private and public) from city F are females. Find the total employees in F is what percentage less/more than 100y.

Correct Answer :

Option D

430

Solution :

The correct option/answer is 430 (or 430%).

Step 1: Formulate equations using the given data and notes.

From Note (i), the total number of male employees in City A is 50:

(15x-2y)+y=50

15x-y=50    — (Equation 1)

From Note (ii), total males working in private companies from City B and City C is 154:

16x+9y=154    — (Equation 2)

Step 2: Solve for variables x and y.

From Equation 1, express y in terms of x:

y=15x-50

Substitute y into Equation 2:

16x+9(15x-50)=154

16x+135x-450=154

151x=604

x=4

Now, calculate y:

y=15(4)-50=60-50=10

Step 3: Calculate the total males in City C.

Males in private company in C = 9y=9×10=90

Males in public company in C = 24

Total males in City C=90+24=114

Step 4: Determine the total employees in City F.

Given that the average number of male employees in C and F is 200:

Males in C+Males in F2=200

114+Males in F=400

Males in F=400-114=286

Since 80% of total employees in F are females, males constitute the remaining 20% of total employees in F:

20% of Total Employees in F=286

Total Employees in F=2860.20=1430

Step 5: Calculate the required percentage difference.

Value of 100y=100×10=1000.

Percentage by which total employees in F are more than 100y:

Percentage More=1430-10001000×100

Percentage More=4301000×100=430%

Hence, the total employees in F is 430% more than 100y.
