Option A

780%

Solution :

The correct option is 780%.

Let us solve the problem step-by-step using the given data and notes.

Step 1: Find the values of variables x and y.

From Note (i), the total number of male employees in city A is 50.

Total males in city A = Males in Private company + Males in Public company

( 15 x - 2 y ) + y = 50

15 x - y = 50     --- (Equation 1)

From Note (ii), total males working in private companies from B and C is 154.

16 x + 9 y = 154     --- (Equation 2)

Multiply Equation 1 by 9:

135 x - 9 y = 450

Add this to Equation 2:

( 135 x - 9 y ) + ( 16 x + 9 y ) = 450 + 154

151 x = 604

x = 4

Substitute x=4 back into Equation 1:

15 × 4 - y = 50

60 - y = 50

y = 10

Step 2: Calculate relevant individual values.

1. Males working in public company in city A = y=10.

2. Males working in public company in city C = 24.

3. Total females working in city B = 108.

Step 3: Find females working in private and public companies from city B.

Given ratio of males in public company from C to females in private company from city B is 4:5.

Males in Public company (C) Females in Private company (B) = 4 5

24 Females in Private company (B) = 4 5

Females in Private company (B) = 24 × 5 4 = 30

Since total females in city B (private + public) = 108:

Females in public company from B = Total females in B - Females in private company from B

Females in public company (B) = 108 - 30 = 78

Step 4: Compute the required percentage.

We need to find what percentage the females working in public company from B (78) is of the males in public company in city A (10).

Required Percentage = ( 78 10 ) × 100 % = 780 %
